What is Las voces diversas de la diáspora?
Las voces diversas de la diáspora is a unique publication that features content amplifying the voices of Black/Afro-Latino people, cultures and traditions. We understand that teachers are busy, and need support cultivating and maintaining an equitable curriculum. We hope this will make it easier for teachers to diversify their curriculum, create a sense of balance, and bring in as many voices as possible.

Recognizing the lack of resources that center People of Color in the World Language classroom, they launched Las Voces Diversas de la Diáspora. Their mission is to create inspirational resources that highlight the diverse contributions of the Afro-Latino community while also exploring its rich connections with Black communities.
Their goal is to ensure teachers have access to quality, compelling, relevant, and dynamic content all year round; these resources that can be integrated into any unit (or used as part of your preferred reading program). Most of the articles are accompanied by activities so teachers can plan less, and teach more!
Get to know the creators!
We’d also like to acknowledge our editors. Ana Andrés (Spain) and Sandra Prieto (Colombia). We have a dream team!
Note: Our lovely contributor Sandra Prieto passed way in April. But we keep her picture as part of our team because she was instrumental in designing the cover and providing feedback. She is greatly missed.
